Disconnect Battery while engine is running

Automobile safety practice is to disconnect the battery Negative terminal when doing any electrical work. This can't hurt anything if it contacts anything, it's the ground. Easy enough to test on a running car and the only way to know if your alternator is doing it's job. I've had to install this device on a couple of cars that would otherwise have dead batteries at the airport when I was out of town on business for a week. This will disconnect the battery without allowing floppy cables. Under ten bucks.

I'm Positive the + cable can reach plenty of things to short alternator to ground if it came loose from battery.
