Default Dirty Oil

How "transparent" is the oil supposed to be after an oil and filter change? I just got mine done recently and looking at the transparency of the oil in the dipstick it does not look very clean to me. I compared it to my top off oil and it seems that the oil in the engine is about 35% darker. I am worried that the folks at the shop didn't even bother changing the oil. I admit, it is partially my fault by not having checked my oil quality before handing the car over to them.

This is a good example of why one should try to do their own oil changes. Yes, maybe the shop did not change your oil. Maybe the tech spaced it out for whatever reason- hungover, stoned, thought the oil did not look that bad, etc. Of course they will deny it. In these tough economic times, many businesses are cutting costs.
The S2000 is an easy oil change. Check the diy threads and save yourself some peace of mind. Good luck and happy motoring!

Currently, I live in an apartment that precludes me from doing my oil changes myself. I can suppose rent a garrage or find a friend who would be willing to help out... but that was the reason I took it to the shop. It was less of a hassle.
