Dirty clutch fluid in slave cylinder
Gentlemen,
Recently gravity bled following instructions posted here (thanks!) after my clutch suddenly felt super soft, had only an inch of resistance towards the end of the clutch pedal travel. I noticed that the fluid in the slave cylinder was a goopy disgusting black color. I used a large syringe to suction the shit out and wiped it out several times while gravity bleeding. The fluid that was coming out of the bleeder was noticeably clear.
Anywho, when I finished up, the car drives as if it has a brand new clutch .
Question: What next? I've owned this car for about a month now and since that time, it has become painfully obvious that the previous owner had no idea what he was doing (placed gorilla tape on center console after his locking mechanism fell out. All he had to do was screw it back in but instead he gave me gorilla goo on my center console to scratch away and f@#k up interior).
Do I replace slave cylinder and while I'm at it, replace the master as well? I have a MY05 with 100k miles

Just regularly flush out the clutch fluid and you should be good. Keep with with the regular maintenance and take a gander over at the Commonly found problems and FAQ stickies at the top of the Under the hood sub forum. Buy some adhesive remover for the gorilla goo!

I tried using Goo Gone but it didn't work at all. I resorted to 2 hrs of painfully scratching it away with a plastic card. Did you use a different adhesive remover?

3m adhesive remover. http://www.amazon.com/3M-03618-Adhes...hesive+remover but be careful it may discolor it. try using pb blaster or wd40 first.

Just curious if anyone has purged and changed over to DOT4 considering where our slave is mounted it gets really really hot like a 350z slave when changing over to DOT4 in my Z the pedal feel was much better and the fluid didnt bake as easily, any input would be great.

The brake reservoir is closer to heat (the engine) and that stays clean.
The heat is coming from the slave itself (I think) and works its way up.
Changing clutch fluid (cleaning pushrod etc) is just part of yearly-ish maintenance for me.
