get krank vents
with krank vents, when my engine is idling I can pull the dip stick out and it will make a 'hisss' from all the suction. thats how it should be.

i had something similar happen but it wasnt my dip stick it was the that thing you twist on top of the engine where all the oil is....dont know what thats called....
