every now and then my dipstick pops out, not all the way just the head. i dont really know what causes it, i just open up my hood and sometimes its just turtling out. what could be causing this? could it be as easy as just getting a new dipstick possibly?

If you leave the engine running and you take the dip stick out how much air is comming out of the hole? You might need to do a compression and leak down test. I have been wondering if s2000's just have this pressure in the crankcase stock or if you have to have alot of blow by for it to do it. This isnt the first time i have heard about it and mine does it too.

Krankvents will solve your problem. Do a search on this forum and you'll find plenty of info.

Make sure the o-ring on the dipstick is clean before reinserting it. Check the PCV valve. If the valve is good and the stick still blows out with a clean o-ring, then you're getting excessive crankcase pressure from somewhere. You can try to find the problem and fix it properly, or install something like Krankvents, or reverse the dipstick, to work around the problem. Krankvents do offer some advantages, but I personally would never use such a device to cure excessive blowby; However, there have been quite a few who have used them for that purpose with apparent success.

Check the stock stuff first before adding aftermarket products to try to fix a problem you shouldn't be having.
(Clean o-ring, good PCV valve, wet and dry compression check, in that order.) Better to figure out where the pressure is coming from than to mask it, because if you don't fix the real source it will only get worse (and the masking will probably hide the fact that the real problem is getting worse).

Keep us posted and let us know what you find out.

I too experienced this on my AP2. My first step in addressing this was having the dipstick replaced by the dealer. About a 1.5 years later, it hasn't popped out again.

The oil cap?

Edit: Or maybe you're talking about the PCV valve.
