PCV valve.

[OK, what's really happening is that the pressure in the crankcase is high enough to pop the dipstick out. So you could be getting too much blowby through the rings, or the dipstick o-ring could be shot. But probably if you just replace the PCV valve it will solve the issue.]

If that doesn't solve it, try a set of krank vents.

A new PCV valve costs about $15.

A new dipstick costs about $15.

The Krank Vents cost $110.

Which one should you start with in order to try and solve the issue?

Hey Mike

I agree with you try the pcv valve first but that didn't solve my problem, krank vents did. There's a thread on here somewhere about building your own as well.

But they look so cool!

I'd try the PCV valve first.

Yeah, but don't you have forced induction? Anyway, the PCV valve is a cheap first try.

What I'd like to understand is why some cars (like mine) never blow out the dipstick, use little or no oil, and don't dump oil into the intake. I'm running modest boost (unmodified Comptech SC/AC) and drive the car pretty hard most of the time, and very hard some of the time, so why don't I see any of these issues? LOL, I'm not the only one, but why do some cars escape all these crankcase/oil related issues while others have cronic problems?

Mike, you may lack experience, but you're strong on theory, so I'd like to know if you have any idea what might be behind this kind of thing. What do you think?
