Default differential upgrade options?

I snapped the ring and pinion gear teeth in my differential...again. I can rebuild with another 4.10 OEM set but it'll just snap again eventually. What are my options? I'd like to stay with 4.10 for driveability. does anyone make a stronger 4.10 gear set? I know I can send the pumpkin to S2KPUDDYDAD for a rebuild w/ upgraded internals but I think he has a $3k price tag on his excellent work. Are there other options? Are there other people that rebuild the pumpkin with upgraded internals at a lower price?

I'm just trying to figure out my options, because I don't see the point in having the local rear end shop rebuild the differential for $300-ish + parts, only for it to blow again eventually. I've got a spare pumpkin I can put in the car from an s2000 at a local salvage yard, but it will just blow eventually also. If I can't find someone to rebuild the pumpkin with upgraded internals at a reasonable price then I think I'm just going to put in the other pumpkin, and sell the car, and I really don't want to do that. But I can't really justify spending $3k on an upgraded pumpkin on a car that would only sell for around $6k or so.

You have options with me, and for a great deal less money than a top of the line custom build.

I am sending you a PM with information and pics

"Puddy" has a very good reputation here on the board and has helped out a lot of folks with differentials. I would not hesitate to take any advice he offered....

Utah

P.S. No affiliation. Just followed a lot of threads over the years that he has been involved with , with positive results.

I strongly recommend Puddydad, his work is second to non and the level of customer service he extends in unbeatable. He can build you a diff that can handle what ever you throw at it.

Just wondering also, what kind of work have you had done with your engine that allows you to break diffs so frequently?
