hey im just a little paranoid here, but my garage floor was dirty. while changing the diff fluid, the filler cap fell over on the floor. i had one hand on the diff while fluid was coming out and trying reach for bolt with the other. the bolt fell over and i tried to wipe it clean on my shirt and then i screwed it in. now, im thinking what if i didnt wipe it clean and there is still bits on rough sand on it.

i guess my question would be, what can 5-6 grains of rough sand do to a diff?

Went to two Honda dealerships near me and nither carried the washers in stock. Not sure about your local dealers but, just giving a heads before you decide to just go out and change your diff fluid without having the proper parts yet.
