How much does a new diff cost versus a new washer?
How will you know if your oil has leaked if the washer does fail?
Have you ever heard of WORK HARDENING and FATIGUE FAILURE?
How do you determine the correct torque value for the second installation? What will happen to the seating face? How stressful might this be on the threading of the diff case?
I would say the chance of failure on reuse is small, but any risk is not worth the few cents savings.
