Default Differences in 04-05 engine vs 06+

I have looked and can't find a definite answer, what parts engine wise are the same or otherwise interchangeable without making any mods? I realize the throttle bodies aren't due to DBW, but what about the heads and blocks? Any info is much appreciated and I apologize if this has been covered or beaten to death I searched for hours and couldn't find any solid facts.

Check the part numbers at one of the many online retailers for the parts that you're interested in.

The short block should be the same. The head, intake, and the fuel rail are different for sure due to no air injection, DBW, and returnless fuel system.

I doubt the head is that much different, most of the time when they delete air injection they just run a blockoff plate. I know that to be the case on my civic si vs an rsx.

According to my research, earlier head (pre 06) would work on a 06+ just not the other way around, the blocks have different part numbers as well.
