Default Diff lube residue

I just did my first change of differential lube in my '06 S2K, putting in LE607. The mileage is about 6300. The drain plug had a little residue of silvery sludge, apparently from gear wear. The car runs fine, with no abnormal noises.

I'm wondering if this is normal.

TIA

My '03 with 17k miles still has this "diff sludge" on the magnetic drain bolt when I change the fluid. It's perfectly normal so long as there aren't any large chunks on there.

You will get this every time. Its normal. Wipe it off and don't worry. As mentioned above, as long as there are no large pieces or flakes, you are fine.
