Default diff going bad?

hey yall im not too sure if im posting in the right spot im fairly new to forums as a whole so forgive my ignorance but this is whats happening to me.
i bought a 2004 s2000 about 3 weeks ago drove fine i absolutely love it, yesterday i drove to a near by city ( about 15 miles round trip) about half way there i first hear a hum and i didnt think much of it and then ticking/ knock noise and i gradually go louder and louder to the point to where i was embarrassed to drive my car this all happend out of the blue no warning, so i look up online and people say it could be my drive shaft or as some people call it the prop shaft, but i jacked up the rear end and checked it out and the knock is seeming to come from my diff if i put my hand on it i can feel the knock

i was wondering if yall knew what exactly it cold be and if so where could i buy a diff or rebuild one for a decent price

any info will be greatly appreciated

Did you launch the car at all? Its more likely to be an axle or hub bearing not the actual duff. Is it worse on acceleration?

Sounds like the problem I had. I had to replace my differential
