Default Diff Fluid for an 04

OK, so I have read all the horror stories about getting the wrong fluid in the diff, and figured out that I should change the fluid and I probably need the Mobil 1 75W-90.

Is there any reason that an 04 should need a different diff fluid than older models? There were some diff changes for 04 ...

Thanks.

There is no reason to use a different fluid than on the previous model years.

I use Mobil 1 75w90.

I use LE-607 90W fluid. The OEM fluid that came in the diff is 90W, so I'm continuing to use 90W. I don't see a problem using a good 75W90, but since I can get LE locally, I went that route.

Mobil 1 75w90 and LE-607 seem to be the most popular around here. I don't think you can go wrong with either one....I wonder what was the factory fill.....hmmmmm

Mobil 75-90 here......'04 fine with it.
When you change it take a look at the drain plug.....it's magnetic.
