Thumbs up dieseling when car turns off

i have an 03 s2000 with 48Kmiles and was wondering if it was normal for the car to diesel (or at least thats what it was called when my MR2 did it) when i turn off the car. after warm the car idles at 1000k rpm and i turn it off and notice that the motor shakes as the motor dieselerates as it is being shut off. in my mr2 it was because the idle was set to high and also to some loose motor mounts. let me know what you all think.

Dieseling is when the engine doesn't want to shut down and runs for several seconds or longer. An S2000 that shakes momentarily before shutting down is not unheard of.

, normal.

Mine "shudders" when you switch it off. It is however only momentary, maybe 1 second count. I would think the cause is obvious, they don't like to be turned off.

Mine has 93000 miles on it. It doesn't shut down immediately (and has a distinct feel to it when it's keyed off) but it sure as heck doesn't diesel.

I think you might not really be familiar with dieseling. I had an old crusty firebird that dieseled when it shut off... it would run on its own for a got 10 seconds. THAT's dieseling.
