Dont post what you dont know. I have a ring and pinion here, which went metal to metal because of Honda MTF. This was the older fluid, red cap.

I'm confident the new white cap stuff would do the same.
Oops, thanks for the correction. I will definitely leave these matters to the experts in the future.

hope the original poster got things sorted out. you should post up his name and info so other owners of s2000's don't potentially go there.

put some le1605 in the differential and call it a day.

I run LE as well. Ran Amsoil, but I like LE better for the diff. Amsoil is the best tranny fluid I've used.

Yes, very confusing. I don't think ENEOS even knows what this lube is for. I don't recommend using it in your engine or tranny. Since they don't list a kinematic viscosity, I hesitate to say it would work well in the diff too.

Did he do this work as a favor or do you have a legitimate work order. His work should be guaranteed. Sounds like a F*** up that he and his shop should be paying for.

Document everything, especially if you get someone else to give a properly qualified diagnosis of the damage..or hopefully just a correction, it will help in the long run if you take legal action if this ends up ruining anything that your not prepared to pay for.

Find yourself a new mechanic that does not hide a bottle of whiskey in his tool box.
