did i hit a rev limiter or what???
running on an autox course, i picked up a cone and kept it under the car while finishing the course.....
hard, sliding wide left turn i was full throttle and as i exited i straightened out, but something wierd happened, @ about 6000 rpms it seemes as if i hit a rev limiter, or something... the cone was still under there...
is was a total loss of power, kind-of a "buzz" noise, as if all the plugs had quit at once, just for a second... then it went back to normal... couldnt re create the situation.
do you think the cone was confusing a sensor or something??? it was under the engine and eventually exited out the back
any help is appreciated

Was the car fully warmed up?
Does it have enough oil?

I would try the simple zip tie on it first. I replaced my map sensor just for the heck of it once I reached 140k.

Not sure if you have an AP1 or AP2 -- on an AP1, the car needs to be at 3 bars (fully warmed up) or there's a ~6000 rpm cut-off to prevent stupidity.

Is it an '06+? Could it have been VSA kicking in? That cuts power, and applies braking to selected wheel(s) using ABS, and it has a ort of crunchy feel when it engages.
Since you're doing autocross, it seems silly to suggest you wouldn't be very familiar with VSA if your car has it. But it seems to fit the scenario.
