my engine is consuming some oil. Its gone from the normal reading on the dipstick to reading only 2 diamonds from the low position. I guess its 1 diamond from being full. How much does one diamond equate to, should i just put a bit at a time in there and see?

I'm pretty sure that the volume between the bottom line and top line is 1 quart. My motor burns about 3/4 quart between changes (3000), depending on how hard I drive.

I usually just put in a bit at a time and see, don't worry about the consumption it's pretty normal for our cars to consume some.

Don't panic if you are a few diamonds low, you just want to keep it within the diamonds. Don't let it drop below the bottom line though.
