Diagnosing a noise
Hey everyone, I recently discovered an interesting noise from my S2000.
When I change the direction the car is moving (From forwards to reverse or the other way around) I get a sort of creaking sound from the rear of the car. It's almost like the creaking you would here from a wooden boat...
I tried searching and it looks like wheel hubs and bearings are somewhat similar, but I haven't found anything that specifically mentions change of direction... The noise goes away as I'm driving. It's only when I change the direction of the load on the drivetrain. I haven't heard it under engine breaking, but it could be that I just can't hear it oer the other noises the car makes.
I changed my diff oil and transmission oil somewhat recently, but I don't think that's the issue.
Any thoughts?
