I don't remember anything like a Sr swap in a S in either one of those Shite movies.

Even so, The Exhaust manifold on a SR is on the left side, not the right. you have to cut the floor to clear the exhaust pipes, Or have a really low hanging exhaust.

I've seen both movies and have no recollection of an S2000 with an SR20.

I understand the desire to put an SR20 into another car. It's a great engine and easily modified. The only problem is that the F20C is also a great engine. I suspect that it would be easier and more rewarding to put together a purpose built F20C (or F25C if you know what I mean) turbo engine. Tuning is a doddle as you have the AEM and there are plenty of others to learn from. Stroker crank, pauter rods, dished pistons, sleeved block, tuned head, nice turbo and AEM.

Just my 2

Ugh well if you don't know, in the movie they took a S2000 and dropped a sr20 in to it. I just thought it was interesting, someone on the forum was going to do the same thing. Anyways goodluck with your project!
it wasn't a s2000, they wanted to "overnight" sr20 motors from japan for their civics....what a faulty (yet entertaining) movie.

The thing is, it doesnt have to be that expensive. Engine with harness I guess will run around $2k, mounts and everything shouldnt be that expensive too, tuning and everything else is a diffrent story...
Can anyone estimate costs?
And how much would I get for my stock engine and tranny?

What will cost the most is labor. Endless hours of work I'm sure.

Slow mentioned the exhaust. Then there is matching with the gearbox, or fitting a Nissan gearbox and modifying the tail shaft. And then mounting all the accessories light alternator and AC pump.

These things always sound real easy until you actually start thinking about them.

haha, i think it's funny that you guys call swapping in an engine that has been that people have been putting 400hp to the wheels on the stock block a "downgrade." this isnt a freak thing either, people hve been doing this for years.

the F20 is a GREAT engine, but the SR20 is better for forced induction. how much would it cost you to be able to reliably run 400 horses to the wheels on an F20? the block would definitely have to be sleeved, among other things.

Why? I'll tell you why. Because most S2000 owners (particularly the 2 posters above the post I just quoted) are S2000 fanboys who think the S2000 was built by God, and has no equal. It is the best sports car of all time, unrivaled in its time. The SR20 motor is not worthy to call an S2000 its home.

Simple as that.

Say what you like about other posters, but one only has to read a couple of your posts to realise their value. How is that V8 going in your car BTW?
