Dealer Stripped Oil Pan Drain Plug
#31
UPDATE: I went back and forth with the dealer and they eventually offered to split the cost of replacing the entire oil pan which I considered a small victory. I requested a master tech to make the repair and the dealer obliged. I also requested that the car be placed on a lift when I arrived so I could see what was done. I got to speak with the tech when I arrived and was impressed with his knowledge and they even had the old pan set aside. I could see the remaining oil residue at the base of the pan and he mentioned how clean it all looked.

Yea wtf....A new pan from the dealer is roughly $400....The pan can be swapped in less than an hour on a lift....(I've done it twice now in roughly that time on jackstands....) Then just put the car down and roll it somewhere and let the hondabond cure for 24 hrs, fill it up with oil the next day and send the customer on their way.....How the dealer somehow managed to factor a $1400 cost is absolutely baffling haha. I'd love to see how they'd try to bill this job. $1000 labor? Pfahaha

I prolly wouldn't use that dealership to change the oil, in the future.
