DC Sports Header S2000
Anyone have any experience with the DC Sports header for the S2000? Mainly interested in any performance gains....installation issues...etc. My current setup is a 01 S2000 with a K&N FIPK and upgraded wheels and brakes. Looking to work on the exhaust now...header & cat-back.
any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks,

The only other header I know of for the 01 - 03 S2000 is by comptech. Does anyone have any experience with the Comptech header. Also when I install the header (whichever model is chosen) it will be installed at the same time as the catback exhaust (probably invidia titanium dual tip) along with the increased airflow from the K&N fipk.....so I am looking for the total power gain from all 3 of these components working together.
Thanks,

Mugen, Toda, Spoon and Fujitsubo make headers for the S2K, and they are far superior to the DC Sports headers. They cost more too, but you get better quality and something that should add some mid-range and high-end power. But don't expect much, as the S2K headers are tuned very, very well, and extracting more power is hard to do.
I've spoken with others that have upgraded their headers and said that more than 5 hp is "hopeful" to say the least. I know Toda claims 8-15 hp, but I find that hard to believe.
I had considered headers, but seeing that they add little and knowing how well tuned the stock headers are, I've decided not to waste the money. I'm going for stuff that will make a difference, and not just a lighter wallet.

With my DC Sports Header, I gained 0 HP, but lost some weight which was nice. Then I got a Mugen Header w/Heatshield(reduced underhood temps nicely) and an APEX'i V-AFCII and gained 10WHP from those two mods.

With the DC Header, you would not get 5 HP. If you are buying a header, I'd get a Mugen, it gives you power, and that heatshield does do a lot, so some of the HP you gain with a TODA or Amuse Header could be lost if it gets hot enough. Used Mugen Headers can be found on here for about $750 versus over $1000 new. In my opinion if I was trying to extract NA power, I'd get the Mugen, but if I were getting a Supercharger later on, I'd get a TODA, I've heard this header responds better to SC power better than a Mugen.
