yea i dont get it either. Its not like you can see the output of the drl during the day. And when you can start seeing the drl's its time to turn your lights on. I dont know i would rather see the drl's rather than that annoying DRL cluster light

I don't have DRLs but they are annoying because
A)I can't control them.. I paid xx,xxx for my car, let me pick which lights to use and when to use them -- This is in line with stuff like the new starters on some car where all you have to do is flick the key and it will continue starting on it's own. Or when the radio turns itself up for me when I drive faster.. I hate all that stuff.
B-More can't control them- In some situations I'd rather turn my lights off before the car is off. At drive-thrus, when I'm pulling in the driveway late at night and the lights are shining directly into someones bedroom, when I go on base and the gate guard tells me "next time, dim your lights." etc etc..
I drive with my lights on day/night because it does make you more visible, even if only slightly, but I think DRLs were invented more for the people who just think driving is supposed to be like a moving couch.

You're in a tiny car that drivers have difficulty seeing.. you should embrace every safety feature.
I've enough close calls with SUVs in my lil black car that I drive 100% of the time with my headlights on (96,240 miles on original bulbs).

They helps when there is a lot of sun glare. On highways you notice cars with drl more than cars without in your rearview. noobs that have no business driving might see you better. Drl use less energy than headlamps, less strain on battery and alt. I live in Canada an I'm stuck with them
