Default Dashboard troubleshooting help

Hi all,

I hope someone with an electrical troubleshooting manual may be able to help.

This morning on the way to work I went to reset the trip odo and hit the mph/kph button by mistake. So I tried to switch it back and nothing. It seems to be stuck in kph mode. I can feel a slight click when I press it but no display change. The Trip A/B switch is still working.

The only thing I've tried is to switch off the car and restart - no change. I guess I can pull the ecu fuse when I get home but I suspect it's all in the dashboard.

Any other ideas? Other than moving to a metric country.

To change from MPH to KPH and back, you must press AND HOLD the button down for a few seconds (it's the SEL button just to the left of the TRIP select/reset button on the right side of the intrument panel). If this simple solution doesn't work, it's something more involved.

Well, I'll be dipped. Thanks, CoralDoc. Just went out to the car and sure enough it works if you press down long enough. I actually did a slow 6 count before it switched. I guess I was fooled by the fact that the trip A/B switches immediately.

And just think, I will have owned this car 5 years in November.

You're welcome. I'm glad it was a simple solution.
