Default Dashboard Gauge Install Questions

Ok so what I want is a dashboard that looks like this

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Except I already have autometer C2 gauges so I'm not running Defi Gauges. The questions is simply what is behind the dash. I've read some threads about a wireharness being back there and I definatley don't want to cut any wires while cutting a hole in the dash. Here is the thread I got the idea from it gives an idea of where to start and what to do.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=292513&st=0

I just simply need to know what is behind the dash, and if there is anything back there what kind of trouble will I have moving it.

Also how hard is it to route the wires from there back to the fuse panel.

What I would do is:
1) remove battery
2) wait hour or so (?) til SRS is inactive
3) pull the passenger side airbag (yellow clips, bolts out from behind passenger side under dash panel)
4) check whats behind there through the giant hole in dash...

5) ????
6) PROFIT!

I'm guessing Spoon - titanium.

Yea seems easy enough right. How hard is it to get the airbag back in once I pull it out. And while I'm doing all this I'm half considering putting a navigation in just for some extra flash.

I'm kicking myself in the ass cause I bought the Autometer C2 gauges while I was putting everything together for my turbo and now I want more gauges and Defi is definatley the way to go. So now I either replace the two Autometer gauges and get all Defi stuff. Or just put the Autometer's in and not be 100% happy with what I have.

Moral of the story do it right the first time

Pull the air bag, it will reveal all.

Where you live? I like cutting them

Hey billman

I'm in philadelphia if you want to cut my dash I'll make the ride. I'm a little terrified to be honest. My car is actually apart right now my turbo seized up and I'm waiting for precision to mail it back to me.

I might be switching a gauge out of my a-pillar too cause I really want the Defi Gauges.

The only thing I'd add is, have you seen the Rick's gauge set that goes on the radio door? Might be another option.
