Default Dangling vacuum hose?

So I installed a K&N FIPK this weekend. When I removed my OEM box there was a hose that was dangling. It is hose #9 in the vacuum diagram. There was glue on the end and a nipple inside the end of the hose. Apparently this was glued somewhere by someone else. I must have pulled it off.
I left the nipple in and started the car up. I got a pretty quick CEL. I made sure all the hoses looked like they were going where they should. I am assuming that this loose hose is what is causing the problem. I can't tell in the diagram where that goes. Does it go the the air pump? #3 in the diagram? There is a hole on the top of that box but I didn't see any glue residue there.
Thanks for the help.

Yes that is the correct diagram.
Where on the pump does it connect?
Can I drive the car with that broken?
I have a trip to VIR this weekend and am not sure if I will have a new pump by then.

You see the nipple on part #3 where hose #4 connects to it? There should be the same kind of nipple on the other side of part #3 where hose #9 connects to it. Sounds to me like the previous owner snapped off the plastic nipple on the other side of part #3 that hose #9 connects to, then tried to glue it back on. Then when you were messing with it the glue failed and the nipple fell off again. The nipple that is broken off in the hose is the nipple that should be glued to the hole on the opposite side of part #3. You can try to glue it back on and seal around it with some JB weld or similar.

Without that hose connected you will have a vac leak and get a CEL. I don't know that it will affect performance much though.

Thanks Coolguy094.
I have ordered a new vac tank. Hopefully it will arrive by Friday.
Does anyone else know how that could affect performance? Will the car be drivable? I drove it and it seemed fine but around town is different than at the track.
