Cutting "faux" vent in bumper
Ok so my car had an AEM CAI on it when I bought it. Soem guys were telling me the dremel out the vent in the bumper to bring in more air. Think it's actually worth it?

i was debating this when i was goign to install my aem, but as others have chimed in for me, the area behind the bumper is not a sealed area and the filter gets plenty of air without hte vent being cut. the vent open will just dirty the filter faster. i then sold the aem and got a k&n fipk =D

Both the AEM CAI and Comptech SC draw cool air from the area inside the right front fender. The fender is already vented, so it isn't necessary to open up the fake brake cooling ducts on the front of the car. Since the AEM CAI air filter sits right behind the fake vent, there is a good possiblity that opening the vent will allow the filter to get soaked if you drive in the rain.
On the other hand, opening the vents will allow more of the sweet sound of the CAI to escape.

Mine is cut open and ive driven in the rain many times. The only time I actually got worried was when I was on my way to a family reunion in va and it started POURING. It held in there like a champ....no misfiring or hydrolock. My filter actually sits tucked it there out of rains way quite nicely.
And PS. I trimmed the vent sommther after I was done cutting it out...no more rough endes as shown in the pic. lol.
