Default Cut OEM AP2 exhaust

So I recently had an Invidia system installed on my 2004 S2000, and the exhaust shop, even though it wasn't necessary, cut the OEM exhaust into two pieces during the removal of the OEM system and installation of the Invidia - never had a shop cut my OEM exhaust until this one. So basically, my OEM unit is now comprised of two pieces: system with the muffler and exhaust tips, and a midpipe. Originally I was planning to keep this exhaust whenever I decide to sell this car to get an AP1 or an NSX. The shop didn't tell me they were cutting it apart, but a) I assume it will easily weld back together? And b) while it made transporting/storage easier, is this OEM system even worth keeping and/or selling?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly I would be pretty disappointed if they cut my exhaust without asking me before hand. I am keeping my stock one around for when I sell the car so it will be back to stock.

Yeah, I would be a lot pissed off about them cutting my OEM exhaust in half. What was the reason they gave you for doing so?

Exactly. I was pretty surprised, and honestly should've gone apeshit. I accepted the situation pretty calmly, contemplating going back and asking them to weld it back together free of charge.

Would welding it completely fix the problem, or will it never be the same?
