Default Custom Resonated Test Pipe with CEL Fix

Hi guys

Just want to share with you my custom resonated test pipe with CEL fix.

It is basically a tubular resonator with the connecting pipes welded on.

Also the CEL fix is also done by getting a little 18mm nut and welding that to a small tube pipe about (2 or 3cm's) and then welding that to the original test pipe.

Sounds slightly higher than stock but not too noticeable (because of the resonator part) but frees the car up immensly and the car revs up much faster and better response overall

It might get a little louder once I use it for a few more months as the resonator part will be broken in to some point.

The bad side? Kinda stinks but I can live with it

ALSO A HUGE WARNING!

Dont listen to those people who have taken their mid section muffler/resonator.

I took it off and put it back on cos the bloody car sounds like a cheap civic with cheap mufflers that sounds Tinny as &#@$% and NO IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE A 350Z LOW DEEP TONE.

Dont be stupid and be fooled by those people! I just hated every moment of it when the muffler part was off.

Not bad, but for $99.00 you can buy a Berk Technologies Test Pipe with the CEL fix.

So thats why I just got my custom one

It only cost around 120 NZ dollars so around 80 bucks US

I oulled the resonator and cat out of my HKS and it sounds bad ass I think, maybe its just me or maybe its just the stock exhaust that does this

Sorry about that I did not look to see where you were from. I guess I was having what us old people call a senior moment.

I've listened to cars that have removed the midsection muffler/resonator.

So long as they have NOT touched the little dead-end pipe, the Heimholtz resonator, they sound bad-ass.

You take off that little dead-end pipe and you'll regret it.

Some people cut out the Heimholtz resonator because they confused 'resonator' with 'Heimholz resonator' and chopped out the first thing they found.

I havent cut out the stupid helmotz thing and it still made a tinny as noise...

Is it cos the JDM and USDM exhausts might be different?

Oh well... i like my test pipe though

The VAFC2 has arrived so its time to tune it next week or so

I totally agree. I have NO idea why people always say "it sounds like a 350z". it sounds NOTHING like a 350z. I really don't like the sound of it either. The previous owner of my car removed the resonator from the exhaust and installed a test pipe, and the sound is less than magical.

I'm thinkin either HKS hi power or Invidia V3 to give it a good sound again.

anybody that wants a CEL fix can simply purchase a 'Spark Plug Non-Fouler' from autozone/advanced auto/etc. It will screw into the existing hole and the senser will screw into the non-fouler.

pic for example:
