Cryogenic Freezing
I'm in the process of getting my LSD and pinion gear replaced. Would freezing it be a good idea if the option is avaliable to me? Would there be any side effects? Any suggestions on where I could get it done? Thanks in advance.

OK - so I'm curious... I don't even understand your question.
Could you please explain what you're trying to do? Cryogenically freezing a LSD?
Is this something you do after you break it, so that in the future it can be cloned and brought back to life?
Seriously, what are you trying to accomplish? Please explain...

Cryo treatment is commonly used for gearsets but I do not know how effective it is or if any objective measurements have been done on gear wear. There have been many tests showing cryo extends the life of machine tools and at least reports of good results on brake rotors.

Cryogenic freezing is supposed to add to strength and longetivity. They tested on such things like razor blades where the cryogenically treated ones lasted like 4 times longer. Some tuners use this to lower heat ranges in spark plugs. From what I hear it really works.

I thought wesmaster cryo'ed his differential, or at least parts of his drivetrain.
do a search on "cryo" and you should run across some threads that talk about this.

I cryo'd my diff carrier bearing caps, prior to having any breakage of that part, when my LSD bit the dust ....... it was cheap, only $15 or so (cheap insurance I guess)
