Default cruising RPMs should be at....?

Hey guys,

So I'm new to the s2k game and I did do a search, but what RPM are you guys at while cruising on the freeway?

I'll be in 6th driving 70-75mph and I'll be at 4-4.5k. I'm coming from a 2008 accord so I'm used to a 3k range or lower. Is this normal? I mean I know our cars are high revving but dang.... haha

Any insight would be great! Thanks!

I'm at 3500rpm @ 50mph or so in 6th. I don't believe the previous owners swapped the FD but I too find myself trying to find another gear sometimes

google "turnzero gear chart", selecte option S2000 applicable year. It pinpoints rpm/speed @ each gear with stock equipment (tires/wheels).

Like Showd16, my stock geared AP2 cruises at ~4200pm at 80mph. The TurnZero model shows 4240rpm -- thanks for the link!

TurnZero shows 4305 for 80mph in the AP1.

When I first got my car, I kept looking for another gear past 6th (sometimes 2 gears). It just seemed...wrong to be cruising and be that high on the tach.

But you get used to it, then it seems normal. Bikes rev high like that, so having that background maybe one adjusts quicker, but you will adjust.

In the beginning I thought this is one car I'll never absent mindedly forget to shift to top gear on the highway. But after a few years of ownership I have done it once or twice.

I know I've tried to put the car in 7th gear a couple of times... Ain't there!
