Cruise control releases gas pedal loudly?
Ok, so this problem just started yesterday. I use my cruise control everyday, so I know this is something unusual. This happens when I have the cruise control engaged, and I either touch the brakes or physically turn the cruise off by the on/off switch. The gas pedal makes a Loud CLUNK noise, just like when you flip it with your foot and release.
I checked out both the throttle cable and cruise cable and they are both tight and not binding. Checked out the pedal assembly, nothing is loose and the cables are attached correctly.
Im at a loss here. Thhe cruise control works great otherwise. Its almost like the cruise unit is just releasing the pedal suddenly. Anyone have the same issue??

mine has always done that. With CC on, it locks the pedal in a lower position to keep throttle and when I tap the brakes or clutch, it releases abruptly.

Same here, when you have a cable actuated throttle like s2ks up to 2005 have, the pedal changes position as needed to maintain the set speed and if CC is suddenly disengaged the pedal will release abruptly. You won't notice this on drive by wire vehicles, such as 06+ s2ks.
