Default Cruise Control No Worky

Any suggestions? When I push the cruise control button the green light no longer illuminates on the dash. I read that there is a switch either by the clutch or brake pedal. Maybe this is the cause? Can someone point me in the right direction?

i don't know, my cruise control works but i have to push the set button a few times to get it to catch. the switch activating the green light works fine though, just the damn steering column one is a bit tricky...

Just to remove the obvious...your foot isn't resting on the clutch pedal or brake...right?

Haha, no it isn't. Foot usually sits on the dead pedal.

+1 to s2k_aok. my green light works but i have to repeatedly push the set button on the wheel to get it to set. sometimes it doesn't work at all. common short or button failure here?

i'd say check the voltage going to the switch. if you're getting power then your switch is bad. s/b able to get one out of a part out thread for next to nothing. if you aren't getting power it could be a short. is there a fuse for the switch?

Dash light is broken? That light will only come on if: Cruise cont button is 'on' position, and you 'set' a speed. it will go off with brake/clutch input. Are the sensors @ the pedals set correctly? I really doubt those momentary switches will fail - its a real simple design. If anything, could it be the switch on the steering wheel itself?

The green light on the switch comes on. The green light on the dash will not. I cannot set the speed at all. Which sensors at the pedals affect the cruise control?

Pull up on back side of the brake pedal when you are trying to set the cruise.. Both the clutch switch and the brake switch will prevent the cruise from setting.

I have the PDF but thank you anyways. I checked the clutch switch and brake switch and both are to spec. The clutch may have been off a hair but I'll know for sure tomorrow morning. I don't use cruise control that much. It really only bothers me now because I know it's not working. Hahaha.
