Thumbs up Cricket sound at partial throttle

I just started hearing this noise recently.. it sounds like a cricket, but only at slight acceleration. I know for sure it's not my intake because I just started hearing this recently and haven't changed anything to my car. It doesn't happen at a certain rpm either.. only partial throttle.

It happens when accelerating and when decelerating at that point and I can make the sound stay there for as long as I want if I kept the pressure on the gas there.

Anyone know what it is? or have this same problem?

Not all honda's do it. Only the ones with performance oriented intake manifolds. My crx started doing it when I installed my skunk2 intake mani.

Mine does too. I just thought it was the fuel pump...

If it is the intake manifold, then how the heck does it make that noise? Is it 'whistling'?

I've been noticing this as well. I can't get it to stay constant, it's just a quick and very faint chirp/squeak. It appears to be coming from the differential, but I can't tell for sure. Possibly a bearing going out somewhere?

It's air whistling across the throttle plate. It only happens at certain speeds because the plate angle, and air velocity are what make the noise.
