Creaking/clicking upon acceleration...
Guys, my car creaks/clicks really bad as it starts rolling (i.e. as the clutch engages), forward or backward. (It's more than just one or two pops though. More of a crunch of, say, 6-10 sounds, some of which can be noticeably louder.)
Now, before you tell me to search, there have been a million posts, etc. I know all that.
I did the 220lb.ft retorque a while ago...no better. I assumed maybe it was the clutch then.
I installed a new clutch a week ago...no better. Maybe even worse!
So, my question - what ELSE can have these symptoms? Diff? Axles?
Thanks! Sorry for

where does it sound like its coming from that would help narrow it down. It could possibly be your axles. Listen to it a little more and let us know where you think the sound is coming from or get someone to drive the car around a parking lot or something and see if you can hear it any better

Does it sound like twigs snapping?
There's a chance you were too late on the re-torque and there has been some damage done to the hub or bearing, or possibly both. Don't quote me on that, but that's what happened to me on my AP1 and has happened to quite a few people here also.

It sounds like it's coming from the drivetrain somewhere. Anywhere from the driveshaft back I'd say is where it sounds like, couldn't really narrow down any better.
It also happens when in gear and moving, but letting off the gas. That's usually just a single click though.
FISH22 - yeah, "twigs snapping" is pretty accurate actually. What was the fix for the damaged hubs/bearings in that case?
TubeDriver - any more info on the splines? I'll research as well.
Thanks guys!

Well, I ordered both a new hub and bearing assembly. Planned on replacing both just to be safe. I ended up trading the car in for an 06 S2k so I never got around to it.
