Crazy Rattle/Vibration
So just to tell you a little about what i have done to my car to help you pin point what it might be... I have an 04. I removed the soft top assembly because i am not a convertable fan and purchased a VIS Mugen replica. I also have a Megan racing 3" single. The exhaust is defintly causeing the rattle noise but when i put the silencer in it goes away. It happens from 2500-3000 depending on throttle placement. It sounds like it is right behind my head on the driver side. I have had a passenger feel around on the plastic tray back there where the soft top used to lay but could not find the problem point. Could it be the trunk rods maybe? Or maybe the hardtop itself? or the side brackets? idk any information would be great!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks for the info!
I will have to wrap the rods with something to see if that fixes the issue. Unfortunatley the rattle only happens when driving...

Are you absolutely sure it's not coming from your exhaust pipe? Mine had the nasty rattling noise as the pipe hit the chassis. It's gone now as I installed an HFC and gives it that extra few mm clearance.

I had that problem as well but i cut back that shield and formed it a little differently to give it strength which fixed it. This unknown noise is right behind my head.
Edit: I read your comment again and see you are not talking about the shield above the TP at least idk if you are or not. Where abouts are you refering to?

It's probably the fuel pump harness or the rear tray but most likely the harness.
I have a downpipe and a 8" JL audio sub and it used to rattle like crazy.
Look behind your liner in the trunk and there should be the harness on the left just behind where your seat would be in the cab.. There are 3 little screws holding it in and it's metal touching metal.
I just unscrewed it and put some clear silicon around its sides and screwed it back it.
Cheap and easy fix for it and no problems.
It's worth checking out.

Just incase anyone was wondering it was the fuel pump harness, thanks again Ctrl! My lady friend took a ride in the trunk (where she normally rides) with a flash light and was able to stop the rattle with some pressure. Popped it off and dropped a bead of silicone around the edges and through it back on... NO RATTLE!
