Crazy Question: Methods of FAI other than T or S
I've been thinking about this a while and while I'm not about to do this, I was wondering if anyone is aware of any research or attempts to make forced induction out of something other than a turbo or super charger? Turbos have lag and it seems supers don't give you much until they get up to speed either.
Has anyone thought or tried anything such an electronic forced induction system that would provide boost at low RPMs?

There's a reason why turbochargers and superchargers are used for this application.

Keep in mind that there are some versions of superchargers that produce the same boost regardless of their rotational speed. (None exist for the S2000, though.)
Norwood Autocraft has built a turbocharged Ferrari Testarossa that uses short, computer controlled bursts of nitrous to overcome turbo lag.
