Default Crankshaft Position Sensor

I had a bad short on the highway as a result of a poorly designed battery reloction kit ( my fault of course ). Once we corrected the problem he CEL light was on. Ran it trough a scanner and got a generic code for the Crank Shaft Position Sensor A. I replace the sensor hoping i had just fried it in the sort. Reset the ECU by removing the hot for a few seconds. Started her up and I'm having the same problem. Dealership doesnt want anything to do with it because of aftermarket bolt ons. Hopefully i have a few more options but im not sure yet. Anybody have any ideas what could be wrong or what to look for?

You're going to have to trace the wires (harness side) for shorts to positive or ground, or open circuits.

This might be a good time to invest in a Helms manual.
