I know this thread is old...but its good you continued it.
If it runs with the sensor unplugged, it sounds like it is not syncing properly. Possible mechanical issue. Personally I would check the cam timing, and be sure the cam trigger wheels are tight as well as the crank pulley bolt.
Any history of work done to the car?

if i recall correctly it was p1361 which is the intermittent tdc sensor.... i don't think it was that, but my friend says it was that code... i rewired the whole ecu where it was spliced before from a previous owner installing a vafc, but i was driving on the highway and it suddenly died on me... and it wont start until i unplug the stupid sensor lol

that is where the problem lies haha.... since it wont start it wont throw a code.... and since we can only get it to start when the sensor is unplugged it throws a code for that...
