Default Crank Pulley

Have anyone tried to, or have removed the crank pulley? I'm trying to pull mine off, however its giving me a hard time. I have the honda lock tool to hold the pulley in place while trying to spin the bolt and its not coming off. I have a long breaker bar as well. Any other ideas i can try? ALso, the motor is in the car.

It takes in excess of 500 lb/ft to break it loose. You're not trying hard enough.

It's a bitch....but it's doable. I like to wedge the crank holding tool with a long breaker bar against a solid point on the car....then it generally takes a breaker bar around 4-6 feet long to snap it loose. It's generally a PITA. Whatever you do though, don't apply heat whatsoever.

You should be using an impact grade socket, if possible go buy a 3/4" drive breaker bar and 19mm impact socket and it should make (relatively) easy work of it.

Yes, lefty loosy, righty tighty for our crank bolt. It is NOT reverse threaded. Good Luck!

Just get a 3/4 to 1/2 reducer and a 19mm 1/2" drive impact socket.

This is what we've been trying to tell you from the beginning. Use good tools, the right tools and a lot of force. No need to try this "technique" or that technique or using spray or heat or cold or waving your magic wand.
