Default Is the crank angle sensor a halleffect or magnetic

I am having a little bit of problem with my aem ems after upgrading to V1.11, GM 3 bar map sensor and a new set of injectors. I checked everything and could only find that there is no power to the crank angle sensor. (There are 3 wires to this sensor) The injectors and spark fired so I can only assume that this is normal.

I will place the oem ecu back and see if I get any power into this sensor when I get home.

Does anyone know if there is a +ve power to this sensor? Is it a halleffect or a magnetic pick up sensor?

Actually I think it's photoelectric.

does that means there should be a +ve power supply?

It's a magnetic pickup. I don't have a wiring diagram here, so I can't answer which wire has V+.

BTW, Alex is being "creative" with the photoelectric answer.

plugged the oem ecu back in
no V+ at the crank angle sensor either
slow could you double check that there is a V+ supply?
I thought a magnetic pick up has no power supply and a halleffect has one...or is it the otherway around?
(I left my CD manual at my mechanic house on the weekend)

Anyway, I did a few more checks and found that I fouled a set of R5672A-8 I hope that this is my only problem.

Are you sure you have your voltmeter hooked up properly?

It appears that the CKP sensor is a Magnetic pickup that generates it's own weak AC signal. There is no V+ lead to the CKP sensor.

On the CKP connector there are 3 wires, pins 1 and 3 are White and black, and both grounds. Pin 2 blue is the sensor input to the PCM.

I'm not sure what configuration chages have to be made for the EMS to accept the CKP signal.
