Default Couple of S2000 Issues

First of all, I got a small tear in my top fabric and I was wondering where to go to get it sealed up (dealership?). Second, of all, my emissions light comes on and goes off sometimes and my car has been idling so low that sometimes it bogs out and shuts down. What the deal?

What year is your car?

Depending on the year and mileage you may be able to get Honda to pay some or all of the cost to replace the top.

Which light is coming on? The CEL?

It is a 2004. I got it used and certified, but my one year bumper to bumper warranty is up. The light that keeps coming on is a yellow outline of what looks like a fuel pump or something. I probably should look it up in my manual...

Matbe just the maintainance required warning. Reset the ECU and see if the light dissapears.

...............

...if it isn't a wrench and more of a box, that's the check engine light. don't reset the ECU...take it to pep boys or a dealer and have them pull the code for you.

If you're honda certified you're good to 100k so just take it in and have them take care of it....unless you have a testpipe..... then don't take it to the dealer.

Not to be a ass, but if it looks like a fuel pump that is illuminated on your dash that might mean that you're low on fuel.

I appreciate the suggestions, but it's not a low fuel light or a maintenance required light. When I described it to the dealership they said it was my emissions light or something. You're right about that 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, though, forgot I was covered on that. I am SOL on the tear in the top as far as my dealer taking care of it, I think, and I am just wondering what kind of shop to take it to just to have it patched up.

There are a few DIY tear repair threads on here. A little searching should yield results. If you'd prefer to pay someone to do it call the dealership, find out who they use to install new tops, and call that company.
