The cap on the brake fluid reservoir under the hood of my S2000 clearly states that you should use DOT-3 or DOT-4 fluid.

Well, since Honda says either DOT-3 or DOT-4 is OK then I don't see an issue. I wouldn't mix them but I have no qualms about running either of the recommended fluid types.

Honda makes a DOT4 brake fluid btw, and they also claim it's safe to use in DOT3 or DOT4 braking systems.

Again, under the hood of my Honda it's clearly labeled that I can use either DOT3 or DOT4 without prejudice.

Hey Ludedude, I can't seem to find where on my car it says which brake fluid to use. Can you help a friend out?

I've got some Motul RBF 600 to put in mine, hopefully getting it done tomorrow, as I am supplying my own fluid - how much is needed to bleed then fill back up?

A complete flush and refill should take about a liter. (That's why we sell two liters of the stuff in our track package just to be safe)

I believe that the writing on the brake fluid reservoir is STANDARDIZED across all makes - I checked 3 different makes and they read the same. 3 and 4 may be compatible, but that does not mean they are preferred by Honda - that is why I believe there is confusion on this point.
