It's just noise.

If I didn't hear it I would think something was broken. Since you can't always hear the motor you can use the buzz as your que to downshift and never have to take your eyes off the road to look at the tach.

Most shops are in the 1K$ range with a complete clutch swap and labor. Not just replacing the disc. Disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing all add to the $ total.
