Default Correct mileage?

Is there a way to check the milage on an s2000 other than the cluster? There's a car I'm looking at buying, with EXTREMLY low km's. However there are some signs of age on it.

Is there a way to find out the milage, aside from looking at the cluster? ECU somehow?

Just count the number of cigarette butts sittin in the groove in that front crossmember under the intake box. I found 3 there the other day, it drives me nuts! At least they aren't in my interior.

LOL!

Well Iknow how to see tell signs. But there's nothing a dealership could find out by plugging in an OBD2 reader into the ecu to find out for sure or anything, is there?

Anything solid aside from reading the odometer

ok guys. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I know how to tell wear. I just want to prove it to myself, not just guess.

So i guess the odometer is the only way. I'm gonna avoid this car regardless.

well S2Ks show wear is certain places a lot. the seats and paint look beaten up when there was little use. the control arms are known to rust. when I purchased my 00 S, the car has NEVER seen rain or snow in its 6 year, 7500 mile life.. yet there was still rust in places.

Carfax and motor vehicle records? You don't have to own that car; there are plenty more out there. My advice is to avoid buying a car if something doesn't seem right. When you find a problem after the sale, it WILL be your problem even if someone else engaged in a criminal act (tampering with the odometer).

Good Luck, you're asking the question at the right time (before the sale).
