Cordless Impact
Hi,
I'm getting terminally tired of replacing batteries for my otherwise excellent Milwaukee 1/2", 300 lb.-ft. impact.
So I'm looking for recommendations on 1/2" cordless impacts, with at least 200 lb.-ft. of torque, which hold up reasonably well, and whose batteries live a reasonable period of time.
Thanks.
Mark

I had the milwaukee also. battery life sucked. gun power was eh.
I have the snap-on. Battery life, power, is unbelieveable. highly recommended.
I had a lug nut in my shop that my IR231 air gun would not take off. So i borrowed a workmates snap on to try it. it came off without even trying.
It is supposedly the most powerful cordless gun ever.
I am very happy with. I use it constantly at home on all my s2ks.

Mike, I have an air wrench, which is why I'm willing to come down in power a bit. But, between autox and racing, I change a lot of wheels, and I need an impact that will painlessly break the lug nuts loose, away from home.
The Snap-On looks wonderful, like all their tools. Like all their tools, it's beyond my budget.

buy a snap-on online used.
you can have them completely rebuilt if it ever brakes for about $150 (last time i did it) and thats with all new parts.
and with the new high capacity batteries and fast charger, you will have to try really hard to kill the battery before the next one is done charging.

I use the 1/2' snap on every day, like 2-3 times during the day. One battery charge will last a week.
My milwaukee was ok at first, but the battey itself went bad after a while...would not take a charge anymore.
I am no snap-on fan by any means. I dont think their prices are in line with what they sell. Too much money.
This gun, however, is one of my few snap-on exceptions.
