Coolant Problem. ***Fixed*** finally.

I dunno.
And I do know my car passed a pressurisation test but had a blown head gasket all the same.
I'm guessing my headgasket was sealing enough to withhold the 15psi of the cooling system but not enough to seal in the extreme pressure of the combustion of air/fuel mixture especially as it enters the combustion chamber at 22psi and then explodes.

Nope, the only sign was intermittent overheating.
Basically the system was fine under normal conditions. But everytime I got on it some exhaust fumes made it into the cooling system. This eventually resulted in a overheating. I would bleed the system and it would be fine again for a day or two.
I do my own work, but was very reluctant to pull the head when it had passed all the usual tests. I eventually bit the bullet (after 4 months of procrastinating) and sure enough it was the head gasket.

If you haven't already, tighten all your hoses. It seems to me that at a minimum there would at least be some discoloration around or in the area of any leak. look for stains on adjacent parts. Do your best to confirm that all hoses are tight. If there is none in your oil, the coolant is going somewhere and should be leaving behind some evidence..
