Using generic coolant (Peak brand) ok? I have some that was pre-mix (ready to be used) from the manufacturer.
I read the manual but just making sure you guys are okay with non honda brand.

Most believe the Honda pre-mix is the only coolant that won't cause long term damage to the aluminum block and head. Since it's easy to get and not that much more expensive than off-the-shelf brands, it's at least peace of mind to use the Honda stuff.

If you want it at the max line, yes add some.
Or you could get the car serviced and the dealer will top all the fluid levels off and not charge you 15$ for a gallon of coolant that you don't need.

Buy Honda...piece of mind is worth it. You drive a 30+K car off the lot, $15 won't hurt you.
And, I prefer peace of mind
