If actual parts have changed, couldn't you just compare part numbers, rather than trying to measure sway bar diameters and spring rates?

Not silly at all..... but you might want to check for spring spacers

Hey guys. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that the suspension changes in question are limited to the Euro market car. I recall reading in the Dan Carney book that Honda had three distinct suspension set ups for the S. One for North America, one for Europe and one for Asia. I believe the Euro market suspension was a bit more hard edged and thus the car was a little more difficult to handle at the limit. Euro buyers and magazine writers in particular weren't as elated with the S as we here in the US are. So, Honda adjusted the suspension to more closely mirror the suspension settings that we have in the US.

Of course, I could be wrong.

No Dan Carney's comments were limited to the prototype s2ks - at the time of mag testings, there were 3 distinct setups, oversteer, understeer, and reasonably neutral.

They were not country specific in the end, and to my knowledge, and general knowledge, everyone got the same setup.

The reason why the UK, and I think Australia, will get the changes for a more compliant rear end is that our roads are much harsher than in Japan and the US.

As brought up before, the s2000 has bumpsteer problems, these are magnified on our roads. I know that comments have been that the rear has been too soft - ie. underdamped for the spring rates.

Unfortunately there are not many 02s in Aust out - perhaps someone can chime in here?

ps. I have sent mail to Honda Australia to confirm the Au position on this

The UK MY2002 review by EVO is now online. I've put a link to it in this thread.

It doesn't have the details, but does discuss the changes from the magazine that was the UK's harshest critic of the S2000. I think it'll be of interest.
