Concerned about changing the oil...
I bought my 2006 s2000 used, back in june of this year.
I'm changing the oil this weekend, come hell or high water. obviously, since i've never been under this car, i'm concerned the oil filter was put on with a machine the last time it was changed, and will be impossible to remove... of course i'm worried about the drain bolt being too tight, too, but i have a big wrench for that.
how accessible is the oil filter? is there enough room to really try and grab a hold of it in case it's stuck? will i have room to hammer a screwdriver through it to twist it off if i need to?

Yes plenty of room to grab it and twist it off. Worse case scenario get a oil filter grabber thing so you have lots more torque on it to unscrew it.
Oil changes are very easy on this car. You can reach the oil filter from above the car too and just twist it off that way.

just looked, it's real close. but good news, there's a honda filter there. that gives me hope that it was done either by the owner, or at the dealer, both of which SHOULD have put them on hand tight...

I just changed the oil for the first time on my new (to me) MY 2005 and I was able reach down through the engine bay to loosen the drain bolt even with the stock airbox in place. As for the oil filter, I bought a $3 oil filter wrench from Walmart and it came off without any problems.

Hand-tight probably isn't right for the oil filter, unless you've got some serious grip. You are supposed to spin it on until the seal makes contact, then turn it 7/8 turn further. I can't do that by hand myself.

Scary. Dumps the oil wicked fast at 9K rpms, and some fires too.
