Comtech Supercharger dyno results.
Max Power=286.7
Max Torque=174.9
3000 rpms A/F=12.5
4500 rpms A/f=10
5200 rpms A/f=11.2
5900 rpms A/F=10
6400 rpms A/F=11.8
8000 rpms A/f=11.2
8800 rpms A/F=10
What I notice about my Air/Fuel reading is between 5200-5900 rpms the A/F will get considerably rich. The dyno readings indicate that I'm actually loosing around 20 rwhp because of this. I know I'm running rich. Is this too rich?
This was done on a dyno-jet using an exhaust probe to read the A/F. I also know that the exhaust probe is not the best way of getting an accurate reading on the A/F since it's behind the cat.
I know the APR is adjustable. Would some adjusting be required? Should I just leave the APR alone? Does everything look within specs? Should I just be happy with the results and leave everything alone?
I know it's very hard to tell by just mental notes but I don't have any way of posting the dyno graph.
My only mods are the Comptech Supercharger/Invidia exhaust.
Thanks.

I would do it right and get the AEM ems right off the bat. The VAFC has its limitations and with forced induction, you're going to want to make sure your car is running the way it should be. With the EMS and a good tuner, you should beable maximize the power from your supercharger while staying within the limit before detonation occurs. Being able to control your ignition timing and fuel maps is a wonderful thing .

Not really. You might burn up the cat if its running very rich though. Far more preferable to running lean and destroying the motor.
Personally, I think 286rwhp and an A/F that is on the safe side is plenty. Instead of spending a couple of hundred on tuning it to wring out 10-15hp, I'd go wtih gears, or some other mod.
Id get back into the tuning if I upped the boost later. I wouldnt go to 12.5 or higher without having some kind of a/f monitor (something accurate, not this autometer circus display stuff) to make sure things were running okay. One bad tank of gas, and you might be in trouble. (Not to mention youre already in California, land of craptacluar 91 octane gas).
My 2 cents.

Just realized that you live in San Diego. Why don't you give Ultimate Lurker a call? He's probably the best tuner in So Cal for the S2000 or any Honda for that matter. Here's his contact info:

I would say his skills are superlative outside of CA as well. Worth flying him out or driving to him...
